The Mobile World Congress 2025 was a remarkable event for CENTRIC, where our members InterDigital and Keysight Technologies unveiled cutting-edge AI-powered wireless sensing technologies. The demonstrations highlighted how AI can enhance sensing accuracy, adapt to dynamic environments, and enable a range of transformative applications in 6G networks.

Pushing the Boundaries of Wireless Sensing

At InterDigital’s booth (Hall 5C51), attendees experienced a live demonstration showcasing the power of AI-driven sensing using existing 3GPP signals. The demo illustrated how AI can improve environmental awareness in wireless networks, enabling:

Immersive experiences in AR/VR applications
Intruder detection for smart homes and security systems
eHealth monitoring for non-intrusive, real-time health tracking
Autonomous vehicle integration for smarter transportation networks

Using a radio frequency (RF) digital twin, the demonstration provided a glimpse into how AI can analyze channel state information (CSI) to accurately track human presence and movement—even in complex, cluttered environments.

The Role of CENTRIC and 6G-SANDBOX

This groundbreaking work is part of CENTRIC and 6G-SANDBOX, research initiatives supported by Horizon Europe’s Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU). These projects are paving the way for the seamless convergence of AI and next-generation wireless networks, a key pillar in the evolution towards 6G.
